Herd Health & Biosecurity

Keeping our goats healthy and disease-free is one of our top priorities at Loki Farms, both for the well-being of our animals and the safety of the products we offer. We will be maintaining a closed, tested herd for the next 2-3 years. For us, keeping a closed herd is a biosecurity measure. All goats will remain on the property with no new additions besides the kids born here each year. We made one exception this year to bring in a Nigerian Dwarf buck (Nugget.) He was properly quarantined away from the rest of the herd. He came from a tested closed herd, but was tested and quarantined before integrating with the other two bucks.

As of October 2025, the entire herd (minus Nugget) is negative for all tested diseases. Healthy goats mean healthy milk, and we’re proud to uphold that standard. As of April 2026, Nugget was tested and negative for all diseases.
