Daisy is the definition of consistency. She’s not overly affectionate, but she loves her job as a milker and approaches it with the same focus every day. For a dam-raised doe, she’s remarkably level-headed and cooperative. Always first at the gate at milk time and standing quietly for the whole milk routine. She is my go to for helping to stand train new ones.
She produces an impressive volume of milk, averaging over a gallon a day at peak. Her foreudder has a pronounced pocket and her teats run on the larger side, one of the main things we're working towards improving. Her production, temperament, and reliability more than make up for it, though.
Daisy will be made available as a homestead milker spring 2027. She has a great attitude, easy to work with, and gives us lots of milk, but lacks the udder structure I'm looking for long term. I'm hoping to retain another daughter from her before she leaves in hopes of preserving her lovely attitude and higher production. She will be paired with Trailing looks this year which should give us a lot of information on what he is doing with udders here (if they bless us with a doeling.)

Gem came to us along with Axel and Buddy, and she shares the same sire as Axel. Whose heavier bone and strong build definitely show through in them. That substance from their sire gives Gem a nice depth of body that we appreciate in our foundation does.
She’s a sturdy doe with a well-attached rear udder showing good height and medial strength. The foreudder has a moderate pocket we’re aiming to improve in her kids. Gem is a little more robust and she’s got a solid, productive build. She has been a reliable doe on the milk stand once she found her routine. She was very close to a gallon a day at peak as a two year old first freshener.
Her daughter, Ruby, inherited her pretty head and strong bone, along with a touch of that same front-end solidness that I would like to see refined a bit.
Personality-wise, Gem is calm and good natured with adults but tends to steer clear of small children and has no patience for them. On the milk stand, she’s generally cooperative now, though she had her share of opinionated moments early on. She’s been known to occasionally remind us to stay focused by giving the bucket a well-timed kick, but by the end of the season, she settled beautifully into her role as a reliable, steady milker.
She is being paired with Trailing Looks this year with the intention of retaining an improved doeling to eventually replace her

Iris is the elegant daughter of Daisy and Billy. Petite and refined, she carries a beautiful feminine look with a high, well-attached udder that already shows improvement over her dam. Her foreudder blends more smoothly, and her teat size is an improvement on her dam.
Though lighter-boned and smaller-framed than we’d like as a yearling, she has really matured very nicely as a two year old. Iris has a naturally wider rear stance than her dam. She’s still maturing and hasn’t hit her full production stride yet, but she’s off to a strong start with a tidy udder and solid attachments.
Last season, Iris gave us two healthy, handsome bucklings and handled her kidding like a pro. This season, she kidded far too early for reasons we're not sure of. We've investigated and sent samples off to the lab. Results didn't give us a solid answer, but did rule out anything contagious.
Personality-wise, as one of our dam raised kids, Iris is a bit reserved, preferring to keep to herself, but she’s always willing when it’s time to milk. She comes in quietly, stands like a seasoned doe, and then goes right back to doing her own thing. Efficient and independent. Despite being a bit more flighty, she is fairly tolerant and gentle with children, offering the gentlest of corrections when their wild antics are unwanted.
She is being paired with Axel this year with the intention of adding a bit more bone and substance in her kids.

Tilly comes from Fox On Fire and Ober-Boerd lines, bringing in genetics known for their steady milk production and gentle temperaments. She’s on the smaller side like her dam, and likely represents a more compact stature line within her pedigree, but she’s all balance and sweetness through and through.
Structurally, Tilly shows a naturally wider rear, with a nice open spot for an udder to fit. Which I love, and a smooth, level topline. We’d like a little more body length as she matures, but overall she’s a correct, tidy little doe with a solid frame and great proportions for her size. She’s filled out beautifully over the past months and is nearly caught up with Ruby in size, now.
Tilly’s personality is what truly makes her shine. She’s the first to greet us whenever we enter the pen and the only one who insists on snuggling. Resting her head against us and closing her eyes like she could stay there forever. She was paired with Trailing Looks this year and had a gorgeous little doeling! First and only one of the year.
And just look at her nice little first freshener udder. It is very well attached with nice lateral attachments down her leg, even. Her foreudder is smooth, no pocket whatsoever. I expect her to continue to develop nicely.
She is being paired with Axel this year. She is a pretty petite, short statured, but nicely put together doe. I'm hoping for larger framed kids out of her with this pairing.

Poppy is the daughter of Daisy and Axel, and she’s the perfect mix of both. Long and elegant like her dam, but with the heavier bone and width we see in her sire. At just ten months old, she was nearly full-grown and stood just a touch smaller than Gem. She’s got that nice dairy character while still carrying the strength and bulk we’re breeding toward.
Her rear stance is already wider than Daisy’s, though we’d like to see a little more width as she finishes maturing. She’s a pretty correct young doe overall. Smooth, long-bodied, and showing plenty of potential through her frame. Poppy has a very friendly, easygoing personality and has been a joy to raise, always comes up for attention and scratches. She is a bit bossy, but not a bully about it.
Miss Poppy unfortunately freshened with a very lopsided udder. Milk culture came back negative in both quarters. No surprise there since she's been negative on every CMT test as well. We have decided to treat it as a possible genetic defect. No buck kids will be available from her for the foreseeable future, and all doe kids retained until freshening. Maybe in a few years with all daughters freshening normally, we can make her kids available again. If we make it to that point, it would be daughters only, no buck kids ever. Her udder is otherwise much improved on her dams, she does have the dreaded foreudder pocket, but is is much less than her dam's, so we're headed the right direction.
She is being paired with Trailing Looks, even if she wasn't related to Axel, she has plenty of bone and substance to her. I am very much looking forward to seeing what udder improvements Trailing Looks is putting on his kids.

Ruby is the daughter of Gem and Billy, and she’s inherited her dam’s calm, steady demeanor along with some of her sire’s balance. Like her mother, she has a beautiful, refined face and a wide, rounded barrel but she stands squarer and truer on her legs, with a cleaner rear set. We’d like a little more width and levelness through the rump as she continues to mature, but she’s developing into a well-balanced, young doe.
Ruby is very sweet and seems more patient with the children than her dam, though she doesn't have patience for their wild antics. She seems to have inherited her dam's cool, calm, carefree demeanor. She always comes up for attention, but tends to let the others butt in. The increased patience has definitely transferred to the milkstand where she tried to pick her legs up out of my way to let me milk the first few weeks and had to turn her head and watch for the first few drops in the bucket before eating.
She has a decent udder. Though as it has developed, her teats have started pointing more outwards. The foreudder pocket is improved on her dam's, but still there.
She is paired with Axel this year. I went back and forth a little because they are a little related, but I would love to see just a little more substance on her kids that we could then breed to Trailing Looks. I think the end result of that would be a nicer more robust goat.

Our first and only doeling of the season! She is the result of a much anticipated pairing. Tilly Jane x Trailing Looks. I'm expecting her to be very nice. A nice level up for our lines here. She is vigorous, eating well, and curious. She is growing like a weed. I cannot wait for this pretty little thing to freshen. Her dam freshened with a gorgeous mammary and her sire is Trailing Looks who has a lot of very nice show genetics behind him. Right now she is just playing, growing, and enjoying her new Nubian friends to grow up with.
If she makes weight and maturity requirements for this breeding season, she'll be paired with Nugget as part of our new first freshener management for easier kidding. If she has a doeling, we'll likely retain one to freshen and see what Nugget is adding to udder structure, milk quality, and milk quantity.
