April 2026 Farm Update
Quick update of the goings on around here.

It’s been a minute since the last update, but things have been moving along out here.
Miss Tilly was the only doe still holding onto a long coat. With warmer temps coming in and her being due next Tuesday, we went ahead and body clipped her to help keep her comfortable. Mr. Nugget got clipped as well. His coat was long and looking pretty rough, so he should be feeling a lot better now and staying cooler. Some before and afters below.
The baby goats from the first wave of kidding have been busy clearing brush for us and doing a great job with it. Where they’re clearing right now is where I’ve been planning on extending the horse track along the back of the property so there’s more room for them to move. Once the visiting horses and donkey head back home, some of the goats may get rotated in with the horses as well.
The rabbits are set up a lot better for the heat now. They’ve got shade cloth over them and a fan running at the end, which has made a noticeable difference.
The garden is coming along. We’re a little late getting some things in the ground again, but we did get potatoes and carrots planted and they’re growing well. The Carlos and Darlene muscadine vines are looking great, and we should get some fruit off them this year. We also planted several varieties of rabbiteye blueberries, and a few of those might produce this season too, along with our Asian pear tree.
Azdarha is about to start her training in the next week or so, so there should be some fun progress updates coming as we get into that. Lots of groundwork to be had. I do so love starting horses.
