Meet the Goats

Tails for short. He's got some amazing doe genetics behind him with show-winning conformation, excellent udder structure, and great milking ability. Tails should really improve our lines here as we get rolling. He is very sweet and friendly, which is important to us here. A good attitude is very high on the priority list. He's sleek and shiny and ready for August 7th! Which is the start of breeding season for us aiming for early January kids. The boys are just starting to show signs of coming into rut, some of the girls have been showing signs of coming into heat for over a month, now. We actually separated Tails from the other kids earlier than we had planned when we started having a couple of the does in milk showing signs of heat very early which was odd. We're only putting three with him this year just in case, but they're usually ready to go their first year.

Pictured below is his dam, Wild Hoof Acres Look At Me who is pending Permanent Champion and appraised a 90VEEE in 2023, EX90 at age 4, and top at nationals twice, both times in milk. He has been a great addition and has been busy adding some very nice resilient and sturdy genetics. We love his robustness and his ease of keeping weight even through rut. On top of that he's very well mannered and easy to handle and work with. I am just loving how his daughter (Poppy) is turning out this year. She's good looking and I think he added some good things. Can't wait to see what he's doing with udders.

Billy is currently for sale. We have two does out of him we've kept. Iris is the first and she's pretty and petite and is developing as a milker very nicely. I love the improvement in the udder on her compared to her dam. Ruby from this year is the second and she is also gorgeous. With the udder improvement he seems to throw on top of the pretty nice udder Gem already has, we're excited to see how she turns out next season. Paired with Tilly for this year, she just made weight! This will be his last breeding season here, regardless. We just don't need 3 in tact males.

Daisy has been a great doe. She had twins last season and gave us a lot of delicious milk. This year she gave us one pretty huge doeling on Jan 5th that we're keeping. Daisy isn't the most correct, but she does produce a lot of milk, and she is easy to milk. For a dam raised herself, she's pretty level headed and easy to handle. She's currently giving over a gallon a day just like last year as a 2 year old 1st freshener. This is her 2nd freshening.

Iris is out of Daisy and Billy last year. She made weight right before breeding season so we were able to include her in last year's season. She's very pretty and petite and I'm liking how she is developing as a milker so far, though she's not producing as much. She is smaller and being a yearling 1st freshener, she will probably pick up in production next year. She kidded two polled bucklings December 22nd that have since found a home together. Nice easy birth and healthy babies. She a little more standoffish despite being the friendliest of last year's group. She is happy to come in to get milked, but otherwise likes to not be caught.

We bought Gem along with Axel and Buddy. We didn't breed her as a yearling as she wasn't quite big enough. She is 2 years old this year for first freshening. She kidded on December 10th and gave us one pretty little polled doeling. She has some good genetics and we are absolutely loving how she is developing as a milker. She's up to just under a gallon a day and has a nicer udder that's very easy to milk. She is probably the most level headed, calm, and cool tempered doe here. I am happy she passed that on to her daughter this year. She did have some issues adjusting to the the stand and being milked, but stands perfectly now.

Azalea Dairy Goats Gem

Ruby is the product of Gem and Billy and was born December 10th 2024. She has her Dam's cool, calm demeanor. And she's polled on top of it. Seeing the change to the udder Billy put on Iris and Gem's nice udder, we're very excited to see how she does this coming season. She had no issue making weight for breeding season this year, she's grown like a weed and is just gorgeous, sleek, and shiny just like her friend Poppy. She has a such a pretty face like her mom.

Poppy is this years product of Daisy and Axel, born January 5th 2025. They gave us one gigantic 10lb 6 oz polled doeling. She's more than made weight for this year's season! Her and her friend Ruby both have grown like weeds and both are gorgeous, sleek, and shiny. They're very friendly and they've matured nicely. I think we made the right choice in bottle feeding this year. This year's kids are the friendliest and easiest to handle so far.

Tilly has got some nice genetics and should really help improve our line of goats here as we get rolling. I am really liking what I'm seeing so far, and on top of that, she is just the sweetest little thing. She's the only one here that likes to come and just snuggle. Everyone else is pretty friendly and likes scratches and pets, but she wants to put her head on me and just closes her eyes. She's just squeaking by with weight! So we're a go for this year's breeding season. I'm so happy to be able to utilize her for the coming season. She has finally sleeked up and is just as shiny and fat as the other two doelings.
Breeding plan X Billy if he's still here, otherwise Tails.

Fox On Fire OBR Tilly Jane

He is Gem's full sibling and they share a sire with Axel. He is wethered per breeder's request. We have him to keep anyone company that would otherwise be by themself. He's a sweetheart and will probably have a permanent place with us being everyone's buddy.
